The Irish Clay Target Shooting Association (ICTSA) is seeking to appoint a High Performance Director for a four-year term, leading up to the Los Angeles Olympics. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about developing Olympic-level talent and contributing to Ireland’s success on the global stage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the High Performance Council with a focus on identifying, nurturing, and developing top-tier athletes in Olympic shooting disciplines.
- Develop and implement strategic plans aimed at securing Olympic quota places for Irish shooters.
- Lead the HP Funding Programme
- Work closely with coaches, athletes, and support staff to create a high-performance environment that fosters excellence and achieves results.
- Oversee the preparation and participation of Irish athletes in international competitions, ensuring they are fully equipped to compete at the highest level.
- Ensure alignment of high-performance strategies with the overall objectives of the ICTSA.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in high-performance sport, ideally within shooting sports or another Olympic discipline.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team towards achieving challenging goals.
- A deep understanding of the international competitive shooting landscape, including the qualification processes for the Olympics.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a strategic mindset.
Term & Commitment:
This role is appointed for a four-year term, concluding after the Los Angeles Olympics.
It requires a significant commitment, with the expectation of regular involvement in planning, meetings, and international travel as required.
