Ireland Juniors win Junior Team event at the HCIT at Mid-Wales
Another great result for Irish juniors taking the Junior Team title at the Home International at Mid-Wales. Both Shane D’Arcy and Brian Shanahan finished on 100/299 and were in a marathon shoot-off for overall high gun of match with 4 other competitors with Jack Ruane an English junior and new cap eventually winning out to take the overall high gun of match and junior title. Brian finished best of the Irish in the shoot-off to finish overall junior runner up of match, overall high gun of Ireland and junior high gun of Ireland.
Father and son team, Shane and Michael D’Arcy had a great home international. Shane took the winning team Captain award having led his team to an historic victory over England. Michael took the highest new cap and veteran high gun of Ireland and was runner up with the veteran team.
Our ladies were unlucky this year. They finished level with Scotland in the team event. Narrowly losing out in a sudden death shoot -off. Bernie Quinn had a strong performance on the day and was lady high gun of Ireland and lady’s overall runner up of match.
Gerry McCoy’s men did not let him down winning the Elliot Avies Cup v Wales and narrowly losing out to England for senior team of match.
